Kungälv Municipality is a place where we create value together in people's daily lives. Our vision shows the direction forward, and our keywords – courage, respect, and co-creation – guide us in how we work every day. A good workplace culture and support for your personal development are important to us. Your contribution counts!
Description
Do you want a key role where you do not work in the kitchen, but instead act as the link between the meal and the care and social services?
We are now looking for you who want to help create the role of Meal Coordinator for our care and social housing facilities. You will focus on strategic work to then implement it in work close to the operations. The role suits you who want to use your professional competence in meals, diet, and nutrition in a broader context, where you create conditions for good meals through collaboration, development, and quality work. You work in the borderland between the kitchen, care, and operational development – with a focus on ensuring that the meal experience maintains high quality.
The role of Meal Coordinator is part of the initiative Meal as an Activity, which is a close collaboration between elderly care and the Service area. Here we see the meal as something more than just food on a plate. Through care for the food, the environment, participation, and treatment, we together create meal times that strengthen well-being, create community, and counteract loneliness.
With courage, respect and co-creation as keywords, we work to support each other, take responsibility together, and create a good and developing working environment – while also contributing to meaningful meal experiences for those we are here for.
Tasks
As a Meal Coordinator, you work to ensure that meal operations are conducted in line with the municipality's goals, guidelines, and quality requirements. You do not work in a specific kitchen, but function as a unifying link between the production kitchen, care staff, and residents in the housing facility. In close collaboration with the production kitchen and care staff, you work as a Meal Coordinator for well-coordinated meals that are nutritious, safe, and based on the individual's needs and wishes.
Some main tasks:
- Support care staff in working with the meal as an activity – from ordering in the app to serving according to checklists, and follow up on the unit's routines regarding meals.
- Catch feedback from both staff and residents and drive improvements in the meal experience.
- Gather thoughts and wishes from residents through meetings and dialogue to develop meals based on their needs.
- Ensure orders of meals after the cutoff time.
- Collaborate with the production kitchen in menu planning and participate in regular check-ins, follow up on deliveries, and ensure that routines work.
- Convene meal ambassadors to share current information, provide inspiration, and support in their tasks.
- Participate in team and operational meetings regarding individually adapted meal issues together with a dietitian and manager.
- Order, receive deliveries, and review invoices, from the wholesaler to the house's pantry.
We offer:
- A meaningful assignment with a significant impact on people's quality of life.
- A strategic role where you get to work close to operations and contribute to development.
- Collaboration with engaged colleagues in both the kitchen and care.
- Opportunity to shape and develop future meals in the municipality.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Have a university education in diet/nutrition or are a trained head chef with at least 5 years of documented work experience.
- Have good computer skills and the ability to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish.
- Have good knowledge of nutrition and understanding of the meal's importance for health and well-being.
- Thrive in a coordinating and supervisory role where you work between different operations.
- Are structured, communicative, and have good collaboration skills.
- Have a service-oriented and professional approach when meeting people in different roles and contexts.
Experience from public operations, elderly care, or similar is meritorious.
Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.
Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis.
References will be taken if available.
