The Animal and Environment Unit is one of the County Administrative Board's seven units that work with permits, supervision, and control within infectious disease control, health, food, feed, and animal welfare. We also work with supervision, examination, and supervisory guidance within the areas of the Environmental Code, water activities, water protection, dam safety, environmentally hazardous activities, fish farming, wind power, hydropower, contaminated areas, etc. Our employees are, for example, environmental protection administrators, county veterinarians, and animal welfare administrators. Description

The Environmental Protection Function consists of 18 administrators with varying backgrounds and experiences. We are looking for an environmental protection administrator for the Environmental Protection Function with a focus on water activities.

Job Responsibilities

You will primarily handle applications, statements, and exercise supervision of water activities (power plants, water abstraction, etc.) as well as the Act on General Water Services and water protection, while contributing to sustainable development. Other tasks may also be considered depending on your background.

As an environmental protection administrator, you will play a major role in our work to exercise supervision within water activities to ensure that current permits are followed. You will prepare proposals and materials for statements regarding permit applications from a holistic perspective, and you will often collaborate with internal and external parties to achieve results. Good teamwork skills will be crucial.

Qualifications

We see that you have a scientific academic education of at least 180 credits, such as an environmental and health inspector, engineer, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent. Education/experience in limnology and environmental law is meritorious. You must have worked with supervision or examination of environmentally hazardous activities for at least 1 year.

Since the position involves travel throughout the county, with limited or no access to public transport, a B-driver's license is a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have experience from working with supervision or examination of water activities as well as water protection areas and the Water Act within an authority or municipality.
