Universeum is Sweden's national science center and one of the most visited experiences in the country. Every year, we meet over half a million people at Universeum and other locations where we operate. Working at Universeum means contributing to society and its development.

About the Position

We are looking for you who have a burning interest in animals in our terrestrial environments. You are meticulous and can juggle many balls. You have the ability to contribute to and inspire a team. You are flexible and quickly find solutions in unexpected situations. You have a positive view of people and have kept your inner child.

You want to work in a cheerful group with great collaboration and lots of drive. Of course, you also want to help create the conditions for all our guests to have a fantastic experience. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

You will be part of the Living Learning Environments department, which consists of gardeners, animal caretakers, zoologists, veterinary nurses, marine biologists, and divers. The position will collaborate with the entire department, but most closely with the animal team, who work with the terrestrial animals.

Your main responsibilities:

• Daily routines in animal care, such as preparing feed, feeding, and caring for the animals.
• Enrichment of the animals' environment and activation of the animals.
• Record keeping and more.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have the following education and experience:

• Upper secondary education or equivalent education as an animal caretaker.
• It is meritorious if you have previous experience working in a zoo or animal park, preferably with the type of animals Universeum has in its species plan.
• We would like you to have a special interest and experience working with birds.
• Meritorious with experience working with venomous snakes.
• Category B driver's license.

Employment Type and Application

• Employment Type: Fixed-term contract (Maternity/Paternity leave cover or similar)
• Start Date: September 1, 2026, to April 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension
