RESPONSIBILITIES

Sollefteå Municipality is looking for a Medically Responsible Nurse (MAS) who wants to help develop a secure, quality-assured, and patient-safe operation for our residents.

The MAS role belongs to the overarching leadership for Care and Social Care and the leadership group for health and medical care, where you work together with others to realize overarching goals and visions.

As MAS, you have medical leadership responsibility with the mandate and responsibility for quality control and quality assurance within municipal health and medical care. Together with the Business Manager for Health and Medical Care and the Medically Responsible for Rehabilitation (MAR), you are responsible for ensuring that patients receive safe and appropriate care and treatment of good quality.

You are a key person in the municipality's quality and development work and work closely with managers, licensed professionals, internal and external partners.

You are responsible for ensuring that patients receive safe and appropriate health and medical care in accordance with the Health and Medical Care Act and the Health and Medical Care Ordinance. This includes responsibility for medication management, patient safety, delegation of care tasks, and that reporting routines function well.

In your daily work, you will among other things:

• Ensure that statutory regulations, routines, and guidelines are followed and known in the operations
• Develop local instructions and routines for municipal health and medical care
• Handle deviations in health and medical care
• Report serious care injuries to the Swedish Inspectorate of Care and Social Services (IVO)
• Write and coordinate the patient safety report
• Be responsible for medical technology products in consultation with the MAR
• Provide support and guidance to operations regarding patient care, introduction, education, and competence development
• Lead change and improvement work
• Collaborate actively with quality leaders, business managers, and leadership to quality-assure and develop operations
• Prepare service descriptions and referral statements within your area of responsibility
• Participate in various dialogue meetings, networks, and collaboration groups where you contribute your medical competence.
• In crisis situations, accidents, or disasters, you work together with the rest of the leadership to ensure that routines and plans are in place.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a nursing degree and extensive experience as a nurse. Knowledge of and experience from municipal or regional health and medical care is of great importance. We value good knowledge of current legislation in the area, especially the Health and Medical Care Act, the Health and Medical Care Ordinance, and the new Social Services Act.

Experience working with patient safety, quality work, and systematic follow-up is meritorious. We are looking for someone who has previously worked as or together with a MAS or similar medically responsible role.

As a person, we see that you are both analytical and pedagogical, proactive, and structured. You feel a great responsibility for your assignments and their implementation. You thrive working independently and taking own responsibility, but appreciate and contribute to good collaborations by being responsive and clear in your communication both verbally and in writing. You are a proficient user of the Office package and have good IT skills.

You need to be confident in conveying and presenting information both verbally and in writing in different forums.
