Shape the future development capabilities at the Swedish Migration Agency
Behind every development initiative, every digital investment, and every operational change lie important strategic choices. What should we prioritize? How do we ensure our resources are used where they create the greatest value? And how do we build an organization capable of meeting future demands for efficiency, quality, and service?
We are now looking for a Unit Manager for the Portfolio Unit – a key role for you who wants to lead and develop the Swedish Migration Agency's ability to steer, prioritize, and monitor the agency's combined development efforts.
About the role
The Digitalization and Development Department (DUA) drives the development of the Swedish Migration Agency's processes and capabilities through innovation, operational development, and digitalization. Through cohesive process management and operational development, we work to increase efficiency, quality, and the ability to meet the needs of the operations and society.
DUA consists of four sections. To the Section for Agency Development, we are now recruiting a Unit Manager for the Portfolio Unit.
The Portfolio Unit is responsible for developing and managing the agency's joint working methods for development, coordinating and monitoring the development portfolio, and ensuring quality and control in the agency's development efforts. The unit works closely with operations, IT, and management to create conditions for well-founded prioritizations and efficient implementation of development initiatives.
Responsibilities
As Unit Manager, you are responsible for operations, personnel, budget, and work environment for a unit with approximately 15 employees.
You lead and develop the unit's operations and ensure that the assignment is carried out with high quality and good goal achievement. The role involves further developing the agency's capabilities within portfolio management, development steering, and operational development, as well as creating conditions for strategic prioritization of development initiatives and investments.
You are responsible for leading a qualified operation with many contact points and work closely with both management and operational and development managers within the agency.
As a manager, you create conditions for a developing work climate where employees are given the opportunity to take responsibility, develop in their roles, and contribute to the operation's results. You leverage employees' competence and engagement and lead through trust, clarity, and participation.
You report to the Section Manager and are part of the section's leadership group. There, you actively contribute to the operation's development from a holistic perspective and a shared leadership approach.

Who are you?
We are looking for you who is a secure and clear leader with the ability to create direction, engagement, and results in an operation that is in constant development. You thrive in complex contexts where you need to weigh different perspectives against each other and make decisions from a holistic perspective.
You are strategic and analytical and have the ability to see connections between the operation's needs, the organization's long-term goals, and the development efforts required to reach them. At the same time, you have the ability to translate strategies into concrete activities and results.
As a leader, you create conditions for participation, responsibility-taking, and development. You build trusting relationships, communicate clearly, and adapt your message to the recipient and situation. You have good collaboration skills and work without hierarchy to achieve common goals.
You have a structured working method, good ability to prioritize, and are driven by developing both operations and people. Your leadership is characterized by a holistic view, drive, and trust.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
We will place great emphasis on your personal competencies.
