Who are we?
The Water and Wastewater Department is responsible for delivering drinking water and managing wastewater for a large part of the municipality's population. We are a team of 26 employees working with water, wastewater, biogas, and waste. Our operations are of vital importance to society, meaning that delivery security and continuity are high priorities. Our systems and processes must function even under crisis conditions, which is why we actively work with both business continuity management and information security.
The Water and Wastewater Department works extensively with digitalization. We develop our own systems and place great emphasis on monitoring our processes. Digitalization is a central part of our development. We build and develop digital systems around the water and wastewater map and monitoring. Control and regulation systems are external systems that we adapt to our operations. Curiosity and a strong drive to develop digital solutions permeate the entire department.
The position means that you will become part of a team of four people responsible for the department's IT systems, business continuity management, and information security. The work includes, among other things:
- Development, programming, and maintenance of our own water and wastewater map.
- Maintenance and further development of control and regulation systems.
- Work with network monitoring via LoRaWAN, where you will play a key role in developing and structuring solutions.
- Work with information security.
- Work with business continuity management.
What can we offer you?
We offer you a key role within the department, where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the municipality's water and wastewater systems, as well as take responsibility for parts of the work within water and wastewater digitalization, information security, and business continuity management.
The position is varied and developmental, with extensive collaboration both within the department and with other parts of the organization, such as Parks/Roads, Urban Planning, and the IT Department. The role also involves contact with external contractors, as well as the development and maintenance of systems that support these collaborations. Creativity is highly valued, and the position offers the opportunity to program and develop new ways of working within the department and with external processes.
You will have an important opportunity to help shape the future digital water and wastewater solutions.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an engaged and driven software developer with a holistic perspective and the ability to plan long-term. You have a genuine interest in developing new systems as well as maintaining, further developing, and adapting existing solutions based on operational needs.
You have an engineering degree or equivalent work experience. You are able to handle databases and program in several different programming languages. A B-class driver's license is mandatory.
You should be proficient in working in Debian Linux from the text terminal. You can read and write technical documentation in both Swedish and English. You should be able to perform basic troubleshooting and programming of PLC and SCADA systems.
It is an advantage if you have experience with:
- PostgreSQL/PostGIS
- MapServer

- Bash scripting
- PHP
