The Cardiology Department at Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde includes Cardiac Intensive Care, post-cardiac care, day surgery, cardiology clinics, PCI and ablation labs, clinical physiological laboratories, and Device/CIED implantation services. We handle both emergency and elective activities and are responsible for specialist cardiology care in Skaraborg. The department is constantly evolving!

Nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors work together in daily care. At the Cardiology Clinic, we work in cross-professional groups where all employees have the opportunity to participate in the clinic's development work and improvements. We have an educational unit for candidates, students, and trainees. We also have competence support staff who introduce new personnel, act as mentors, and provide support in daily work.

Job Responsibilities

The duties consist of cardiological and medical nursing in inpatient and elective care. Internal and external competence development is included. Here, you have the opportunity to join a competent team where you are given the chance for both professional and personal development. We work around the clock, with weekend shifts comprising two out of five weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, interested in Cardiology, and want to help develop patient-centered care! You should have good collaboration skills and be able to communicate trustingly with patients, relatives, and other staff. Since the tasks and workload on the ward vary, you must thrive in a changing pace, be able to adapt accordingly, and simultaneously provide good care. Experience in emergency care with a focus on cardiology is meritorious.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes introduction days, supervision and training days, as well as observation days. The purpose of the Clinical Base Year is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge, practice skills, and grow into their new profession.

Other Information

In the event of recruiting nurses with foreign licenses, the position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for a Swedish license.

Scheduled shifts include days, evenings, nights, and weekends. On-call shifts are also included.
