As an employee within the sterile processing unit, you work with the sterile handling of medical technology products. The work involves preparing surgical equipment for surgeries in the form of cleaning, packing, functional checks, and sterilization of equipment. Furthermore, it includes participating in improvement work within the unit. In addition to the usual handling of traditional surgical materials, it also involves manual work with responsibility for assembling advanced instruments for robotic surgery.

Sterile processing technicians at Sterile Processing are also responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with established goals and that they develop in line with science, regulations, and the requirements of the surroundings. The work involves handling instruments using equipment that requires knowledge of processes, controls, and validation.

A sterile processing technician education is a requirement for the position. We would like you to have experience working with sterile materials. Experience with T-DOC, relevant education, or certifications in machine maintenance are seen as advantages.

Sterile Processing is part of the Laboratory Medicine Business Area. The Laboratory Medicine Business Area has a consolidated responsibility for the laboratory medicine service provided at the laboratories within Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. We run a broad operation within the areas of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, virology, immunology, transfusion medicine including therapeutic plasmapheresis treatment, pathology, cytology, and molecular genetics. Sterile Processing is also included within this business area. Here, nearly 300 people work with routine diagnostics, research and development, as well as education.
