BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) in Halmstad is now seeking a licensed nurse with an interest in working with children and adolescents, and who is curious about or has experience in child psychiatry. The nursing team consists of 6 nurses, and we offer you a varied and developing work environment.
Job Responsibilities
At the BUP clinic in Halmstad, you will primarily work with medication follow-ups, information, and counseling, both via 1177, telephone, and in person. The work is varied and based on psychiatric nursing. You will work both independently and as part of a nursing team where everyone values supporting each other. You will also collaborate closely with our doctors and other staff. We hold regular team conferences where you can discuss cases and access the expertise of other professional categories. It is important to us that you feel secure in your work, and we continuously work on our introduction program where you will have a dedicated mentor to support you. Eventually, you will be expected to plan telephone and medication follow-ups independently, but this will be done in consultation with your mentor and department manager.
Other tasks may include leading parent education programs or other training for our patients and their relatives, depending on the needs of the unit. Collaboration with schools, social services, and other authorities is also a key part of the job. Active participation in the clinic's continuous development work is seen as a natural part of every employee's role.
About the Workplace
Psychiatry Halland is Region Halland's authority for all public specialized psychiatry. This includes psychiatry for children, adolescents, and adults, covering both outpatient and inpatient care. Psychiatry Halland has approximately 850 employees and operations in all municipalities in the region. The department is led by an authority director, operational managers, and department managers.
The workplace is located on the hospital campus in Halmstad. Approximately 50 people work at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic. We are divided into two clinics with identical missions, each with its own department manager, and we are continuously expanding our operations. The clinic is Hbtqi-certified.
Here, nurses, doctors, psychologists, social workers, assistant nurses, special educators, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries work in teams. We offer specialized psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, investigation, and treatment through conversation and/or medication for children aged 0–17. Our goal is always to maintain close and effective collaboration with schools, social services, and other healthcare units to meet the needs of children and adolescents for a functioning network, thereby creating a holistic approach.

Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse. Further education in psychiatry and previous experience working with children and adolescents are considered meritorious.
This position requires a clear patient focus and the ability to work at a high pace when necessary. Good teamwork skills and confidence in working independently are fundamental qualities for the role. You are flexible in your working methods and enjoy collaborating to achieve results. A good attitude towards patients, their relatives, and colleagues is essential for you. We are a team that enjoys working together and has strong cohesion. We place great importance on personal suitability.
