What is it really like to work as a blackjack dealer? Linn, one of our employees, shares her story:

What the job actually entails:

You stand at the blackjack table, deal the cards, keep track of the game, and ensure everyone is having a good time. You set the mood. One evening you might have a table full of girls on a bachelorette party, the next evening a company at a Christmas lunch, and then a lovely group out for after-work drinks. You are the face of the operation – warm, clear, and professional.

And no, you don’t need to know anything about cards or gambling. The only requirements are that you are social, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoy meeting people. The rest you will learn during Cherry’s internal training, which is completely free of charge.

Why this specific job?

I’ve tried just about everything, e.g., cashier, serving, and telemarketing. This is the first part-time job that actually feels like more than just trading hours for kronor.

The practical details:

• Hours: Minimum 4 weekend evenings/month, approx. 20 hours – more if you want
• Schedule: Evenings and nights, primarily Fridays and Saturdays
• Salary: From 161 SEK/h + shift allowance, commission, holiday pay, pension contributions
• Collective agreement via HRF, affiliated with Visita.
• Age limit: 18 years
