Ringaren Preschool is a municipal preschool in the heart of Kapellgärdet. We continuously develop our operations to stay at the forefront and work actively with sustainability, including gradually increasing our organic purchases. We place great importance on creating good and professional relationships with both our young guests and our staff.

Description of Duties

As a Meal Assistant, you work in kitchens within preschools and schools, where you are part of a team responsible for serving delicious and nutritious meals. The position may involve working at multiple units and collaborating between different kitchens. You prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Duties include boiling potatoes and rice, preparing salads and vegetables, and performing simple cooking tasks. You are also responsible for dishwashing, daily cleaning routines, and cleaning the kitchen equipment and premises. Additionally, you handle special diets, receive deliveries, unpack goods, and participate in ordering. Self-control measures according to food legislation are included in the work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have education within the restaurant/large-scale catering sector, for example, from the upper secondary school's Restaurant and Food Programme.

You take initiative in daily work, see what needs to be done, and start tasks in the kitchen and serving area to contribute to a good flow. You are flexible and can quickly adapt when the pace changes, menus are adjusted, or unexpected situations arise. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills, work smoothly with colleagues, are receptive in communication, and contribute to a positive and functional work environment.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
