Ringaren Preschool is a municipal preschool located in the heart of Kapellgärdet. Approximately 150 children attend the preschool. At the preschool, you work together with a colleague, which creates good conditions for collaboration in daily work. We strive to continuously develop our operations to stay at the forefront and are gradually increasing our organic purchases. We place great emphasis on creating good and professional relationships with our little guests as well as with the preschool staff.

Description of Duties

As a cook with us at Meal Service, you need to be able to plan, prepare, and cook various meals according to the Meal Service menu, as well as plan and purchase food together with the other cooks in the kitchen. Taking responsibility for HACCP and actively working with waste reduction is seen as a given. Baking bread and presenting the food in an appealing way when serving guests are also standard tasks for a cook with us.

This position is a fixed-term contract (substitute) for the period from 2026-08-01 to 2026-12-31.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a recognized education in restaurant or institutional catering with experience in similar duties. You should have good knowledge of food hygiene and self-control according to HACCP principles. We would like you to have knowledge about special diets and experience with menu planning and ingredient handling. Good oral and written skills in Swedish are required for the position. It is an advantage if you have good computer skills, especially in Microsoft 365, and knowledge of nutritional data systems.

You are flexible and adapt easily to changing circumstances in daily life, which is important in a preschool kitchen where conditions can change quickly. You have good teamwork skills and work well with colleagues, listening and communicating smoothly to create a positive work environment. You are also service-oriented, meaning you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions, with a willingness to help others and deliver good solutions – always with the children's best interests in focus.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
