Health and medical care in Värmland is a joint organization divided into several areas where ambulance care belongs to AnOp IVA and prehospital care. We have 23 health centers throughout the county and three emergency hospitals in Arvika, Karlstad, and Torsby. We are a moderately sized and cohesive healthcare organization with short decision-making paths that allow you to see the big picture and have a say in how things are done.

Today, approximately 55,000 ambulance missions are carried out annually in Värmland for the region's nearly 300,000 inhabitants. Ambulance care in Värmland is county-wide with ambulance stations in twelve locations.

Your responsibilities

Ambulance care is challenged by the acute care of sick and injured people in many different environments.

Your role involves assessing, referring, treating, and transporting patients. Through this, you contribute to the patient receiving good care and the right treatment at the right level of care. The work also includes routine tasks for a nurse within ambulance care.

Our goal is to always have a secure patient who knows the next step in the care chain. We work for a good working environment with stimulating tasks and individually adapted onboarding. The shift work includes both day and night shifts.

Health and medical care are based on our patients' needs and employees' competence. We want to advance health and medical care together with our employees.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for an ambulance nurse or a nurse with at least 1 year of clinical experience. A category B driver's license is required, along with at least 3 years of driving experience. A C1 driver's license is an advantage.

Before any employment, you must complete work tests and undergo a health check approved by the region. Region Värmland works for a drug-free work environment and applies mandatory drug testing upon hiring new staff.

You have good self-insight and stand firm in your professional role. At the same time, you are a team player who collaborates smoothly with colleagues and contributes to a positive work environment. You are flexible and can quickly adapt when conditions change without losing focus. With genuine commitment to people, you meet patients and relatives with respect, sensitivity, and empathy.
