Description

Orestrand is a residence for people in need of care and nursing around the clock. The residence is located in the beautiful nature of Furudal, 4 miles north of Rättvik. Orestrand has 20 resident places distributed across two wards on two floors.

We work towards the goal of providing good care and nursing with the right quality, adapted to each individual's needs. We strive to apply working methods that contribute to a well-functioning and meaningful daily life for our residents.

We are now looking for 4 assistant nurses (undersköterskor), including 1 longer-term temporary position and 3 permanent positions.

Job Description

Our work group includes assistant nurses, care assistants, nursing assistants, nurses, administrative assistants, and unit managers. We also have a physiotherapist and an occupational therapist attached to the residence. There is good cooperation between the different professions at Orestrand.

You will work with standard tasks for assistant nurses. The work involves providing good care and nursing as well as support to the residents. You need to be flexible regarding working hours as the work is scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. We work for close cooperation between the wards.

We place great importance on activities and contributing to a meaningful daily life for the residents.

The role of assistant nurse at Orestrand includes contact with relatives, and you are the primary responsible person for assigned residents. You are also responsible for assigned guardian roles. Your commitment and personality are important assets in the daily work.

As an assistant nurse, you are also responsible for documentation, follow-up, and reporting on changes in the health status of the care recipient.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse. We would like you to have experience working with people with cognitive impairment and/or mental health issues.

In your assignment, you are expected to take responsibility for your tasks and guardian assignments assigned to you in the role of assistant nurse.

As an assistant nurse, you have a strong commitment to people and a positive outlook. You relate to situations in an adapted manner and show care for our patients. You are interested in healthcare and in supporting and motivating patients to become independent based on their own abilities.

We are a team around the residents, and it is of great importance that everyone in the team can cooperate well and that we all have an unpretentious attitude towards each other. We sometimes encounter challenges and face difficult assignments, so it is important that you have the ability to accept challenges with ease and a desire to always make the best of every single situation.

Since digital tools are used in the work, it is of great importance that you have good digital competence.

Formal requirements for the position

Protected professional title

Assistant nurse has been a protected professional title since July 1, 2023.

To be employed as an assistant nurse, you therefore need to have proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or meet the requirements to obtain such proof.

Language requirements

To ensure good and safe care, language requirements in elderly care apply from July 1, 2026. For the position, knowledge of Swedish equivalent to at least level B2 according to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required.

This means that you need to be able to communicate clearly with care recipients, relatives, and colleagues, understand oral and written instructions, participate in and write documentation, and actively participate in the cooperation in the work group.

Language skills will be assessed in connection with the recruitment.
