We are a force that binds together, holds together and develops the county. Within Region Västernorrland, we are all part of something bigger.

About the Operations

The ambulance care service is a county-wide operation that is constantly developing to offer the patient the best possible care. The operation provides ambulance care and patient transport services and comprises approximately 200 employees. Staffing in ambulances has previously consisted exclusively of licensed nurses, but as part of providing accessible ambulance care, we are now hiring ambulance care workers for the operation. We have stations in Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå, Sundsvall, and Örnsköldsvik, and we offer temporary, hourly, or permanent positions within the Region.

Ambulance care in Region Västernorrland maintains high quality, and with us, you have good opportunities to develop in the role of an ambulance care worker. We offer a secure induction program where you work under supervision and develop through internal training. During your first period with us, you will always work together with an experienced nurse when working in the ambulance. The work requires good physical endurance. Before employment, you will undergo suitability tests in the form of a physical test, driving test, and an assessment of medical knowledge.

The profession involves a large part of driving, and you must show good judgment in traffic. You should have at least two years of driving experience and will receive further driving knowledge through the ambulance care service's traffic training. If you lack a C or C1 driver's license and are not covered by an exemption (B license obtained before 1996-07-01, without revocation after this date), the ambulance care service will cover the cost of a training package for a C1 driver's license.

We are now looking for you who are trained as an ambulance care worker or assistant nurse with previous emergency care experience. Start date is by agreement.

In the role of an ambulance care worker, you work in an ambulance and/or in patient transport vehicles. In the ambulance, you work in a team together with a nurse, where you collaborate to provide the patient with the best possible care. In patient transport vehicles, you work independently, primarily performing the transport of patients who need to travel with a healthcare resource but do not require an ambulance during transport.
