Job Responsibilities

The Operations Unit of the Traffic and Parks Department is seeking a Construction Worker with a focus on street work. The construction worker will perform maintenance and upkeep of streets and roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths, parks, and playgrounds.

Key responsibilities within the street division include maintaining manholes and ditches, stone and paving work, minor asphalt laying, and other ground works. The role also involves manual snow clearance and anti-icing measures, maintenance of ice rinks, tree felling, minor repair and carpentry work, as well as signage.

On-call duties during both summer and winter may be included in the position. During winter, the on-call duty involves performing snow and ice control using construction machinery.

Some administrative work is part of the role, such as digital time reporting of completed tasks.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a vocational education in construction technology, land and construction, at the upper secondary level, or experience that the employer deems sufficient. As a person, you are quality-conscious, willing to help out in other professional areas within the Traffic and Parks Department, and take initiative in your work.

We prefer that you are responsible, meticulous, flexible, and service-oriented. The work involves both group tasks and independent work, so good teamwork skills are essential. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

A valid driver's license, at least category B manual, is a requirement; other qualifications are meritorious.

Holding valid certifications such as APV (Work on Road), crane operator certificate, chainsaw license level AB/C, brush cutter license, and similar qualifications are meritorious for the position.
