About the role

Do you want to work on issues that make a real difference – for both the business and the sustainable transition? We are now looking for a colleague to join Södra Cell in Värö who wants to drive energy and environmental issues forward.

This is a parental leave vacancy starting immediately and lasting for at least one year.

Your responsibilities at Södra

In this role, you will become an important part of our sustainability work. You coordinate energy issues, monitor results, and drive initiatives that contribute to high energy performance and regulatory compliance.

You will become part of the sustainability group in Värö – a team where we collaborate, develop, and support each other. Here you will work close to the operations, influence, and contribute to something that matters – both today and for the future. You will have a varied and operationally close assignment where you work with energy and environmental issues together with several parts of the organization.

The position is a parental leave vacancy, which means you will have the opportunity to quickly take responsibility in the role and contribute to important work in the operations.

Among other things, you will:

  • Coordinate energy issues and contribute to a well-functioning energy management system.
  • Monitor energy performance, consolidate and perform reporting, audits, and energy budgeting.
  • Lead the energy management group.
  • Contribute to work related to water treatment and other sustainability initiatives, such as driving and coordinating work related to conditions in environmental permits, primarily concerning discharges to water.
  • Work closely with project managers and other functions in development and improvement work.

Here you get to combine analysis and structure with collaboration and dialogue – in a role where you make a real difference in the operations.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in energy, chemistry, and environmental issues and who thrive in a role where you get to combine technology, analysis, and collaboration. You like to create order in complex issues, drive work forward, and build good relationships with the people around you.

To be considered, we see that you have:

  • A Master of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Education in energy, chemistry, and environment.
  • Experience in projects and process operations.
  • Preferably experience from the industry.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in water treatment work.
  • Good understanding of, and experience in working with, environmental legislation.

As a person, you are:

  • Structured and analytical.
  • Driven and get things done.
  • A problem solver who thrives with complex issues.
  • Responsible and self-initiative.
  • Good at collaborating and building relationships.
  • Accustomed to – and enjoys – working in projects.

You thrive in an environment where safety always comes first and where we work together to develop.

We also know that no one knows everything – so if you recognize yourself in much, but not all, we hope you will apply anyway. Perhaps it is exactly your perspective that we need.

What it is like to work at Södra

At Södra, you have the opportunity to develop at work, while also contributing to sustainable forestry that creates value for people and the environment. We place great value on your personal engagement and are keen that you should thrive and feel well. For your security, we have collective agreements and good terms, as well as several benefits that you can use both at work and in your free time.

What do you think, could this be something for you? Then you know what to do. We really look forward to hearing from you!

Join us in building a sustainable society

Södra is one of the country's largest forest industry companies and is jointly owned by more than 50,000 family-owned forests in southern Sweden. In addition to developing forestry, we strive to always use the forest raw material in the most effective and climate-smart way. Paper pulp, timber, textile pulp, and bio-products are just a few examples. By working together, we have the strength, commitment, and courage required to build a sustainable society. This happens with our feet on the ground, our ear to the outside world, and our gaze forward.
