At the Neurology Department, specialized and highly specialized care is provided for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system. We work with investigation and diagnostics, as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute and chronic neurological and neurosurgical conditions. We provide care to patients from seven regions in Central Sweden and offer national highly specialized care in certain areas to patients from all over Sweden. This complex mission creates excellent conditions for our employees and operations to develop.
Within the department, more than 450 employees work across three inpatient wards, a day-care ward, a neuro-intermediate care ward, a neuro-intensive care ward, an operating theatre, and three outpatient clinics.
In parallel with clinical operations, there is high activity in research, education, and development in close collaboration with Uppsala University. Our goal is to be nationally and internationally leading in care, research, and teaching within the neurology field.
We are looking for a Senior Consultant in Neurology with a focus on movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease and the treatment of dystonias. You have experience managing advanced treatments for Parkinson's disease. The position also includes on-call duties in neurology during day and night, including thrombectomy cases. You will work in both outpatient and inpatient settings and are expected to have experience with clinic operations and have worked with most neurological diagnoses.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability, with a focus on teamwork and team development. The daily work requires collaboration skills and flexibility. With clarity and communication skills combined with empathy, you work with both patients and colleagues across all professional categories. You are engaged and present in the moment. You take responsibility for leading, developing, improving, and representing the department. You are open and interested in participating in and learning from the best developments in the field. A PhD certificate is required for the application for the Senior Consultant position.
