The Forensic Psychiatry Unit cares for patients who have been convicted of crimes and transferred to forensic psychiatric care. This means we receive patients with varying psychiatric conditions. At the unit, we work from a long-term perspective where, in addition to medication, nursing, educational interventions, and psychological treatment with a focus on preventing recidivism are important components.
The Forensic Psychiatry Unit currently consists of two care wards with a newly opened Security Level 2, Security Level 3, as well as an outpatient clinic. In April 2024, we moved to newly built premises in Jälla outside Uppsala.
We are looking for you who, together with other employees, want to develop care for patients at the Forensic Psychiatry Unit. As a nurse or specialist nurse on the ward, you assess, plan, and perform specific nursing care. You have a supervisory role and bring a nursing perspective to the interprofessional team. We have long care periods and therefore place great emphasis on relationship-building work. You participate in quality and development work within your area of expertise.
We work with differentiated tasks depending on whether you are a basic registered nurse or have specialist training. As a specialist nurse, you have additional responsibility to lead and develop psychiatric nursing together with other specialist nurses, both at the patient level and at the unit level. You provide collegial supervision.
You who apply are an experienced nurse, a newly graduated nurse, or a specialist nurse in psychiatric nursing. Experience and knowledge of leadership at a general level, supervision of students, and experience of quality and development work within psychiatric care are desirable and meritorious but not mandatory.
You are interested in developing in the role of a leader. You are firmly anchored in the profession's code of ethics and do not hesitate to put it into practical action in relation to both patients and employees. You are professionally proud, have good analytical and reflective skills, and contribute to nursing expertise to improve and develop care. Meritorious is experience of psychosis care or forensic psychiatric care as well as interest in care development. A driver's license is meritorious. In the appointment, great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
A permanent full-time position during days, evenings, and weekends with placement at the Forensic Psychiatry Unit. Probation may apply. Prior to employment, extracts from suspicion and criminal records will be taken.

We would like you to have an interest in research and teaching in collaboration with Uppsala University.
