As a Transmission Planner, you will be part of the Site and Logistics Section within the Unit for Critical Communication Services. The role involves contributing to strengthening society's robustness through the management and development of transmission solutions within our critical communication services.

Your responsibilities and tasks

In the role of Transmission Planner, you are responsible for the planning, reconnaissance, design, commissioning, and documentation of connections in the transmission network, as well as participating in various network establishment processes for critical communication services, including customer solutions. The role also includes planning and implementing network optimizations and contributing to the development and improvement of routines, instructions, and documentation in the organization's knowledge database. Collaboration with colleagues both within and outside the unit, as well as with providers of transmission connections, is central to ensuring that deliveries are made with the right quality and on time.

The tasks also include participation in projects within the framework of both existing and new solutions, including the development of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD). The role also includes responsibility for training the operations organization in implemented solutions and ensuring the quality of data registered in databases and support systems.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who have:

  • Post-secondary education in IT/telecommunications or equivalent experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Several years of experience working with transmission solutions.
  • Good knowledge and experience of SDH and PDH.
  • Experience in network design and troubleshooting.
  • Good familiarity with telecommunication, data, radio, or broadband networks, their structure, and interconnections.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Class B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Good knowledge of radio links such as Ericsson MINI-LINK, Nokia Flexpacket, and Dynanet.
  • Knowledge and experience in radio link beam planning.
  • Experience in managing spectrum licenses.
  • Knowledge of RAD TDM equipment.
  • IP skills equivalent to CCNA.
  • Technical understanding of and experience working in mobile networks (TETRA system/4G/5G).

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.

Your place of work will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel during employment will occur.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security classification. Swedish citizenship is usually required. In the event of placement in a security classification, a security investigation with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are war-placed.

About us

On the Site & Logistics Section, we are 12 employees, located in both Karlstad and Stockholm. The section's areas of responsibility, in addition to transmission solutions, are installations and their infrastructure, Tetra Core and RAN including radio planning, and field service.
