Care Assistant for Herrhagsgården Specialized Housing!

Herrhagsgården is a specialized housing facility located in Falun, approximately 2 km outside the city center. The facility consists of 80 apartments distributed across 5 units for individuals with dementia. We are now looking for an additional care assistant to join our team!

At Herrhagsgården, care assistants, nursing assistants, unit managers, nurses, and rehabilitation staff work closely together, which we see as a given. We also strive for good collaboration with other actors who have assignments or relations to our operations.

Job Responsibilities

The work primarily involves providing good, person-centered care and support to those living in our facility. The care and support work includes personal care, as well as providing support, security, and assistance in various service tasks, such as meal situations, cleaning, laundry, and more. The work also involves promoting social activity and creating opportunities for individuals to maintain their own functions.

Each individual care recipient has a designated care contact who has additional responsibility and maintains regular contact with relatives and close ones. Depending on interest and specialized competence, the role of care assistant may include varying areas of responsibility.

Great focus and importance are placed on the care staff's ability to meet residents in a person-centered manner and according to the interaction plan.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

• Three-year upper secondary school program in nursing care or other education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Experience working with individuals with cognitive impairment.
• Experience using computers and mobile devices as work tools.
• You must be at least 18 years old.

In this role, you need to have a strong commitment and interest in the target group. You take responsibility for your work and your health. It is important that you have the ability to create security and can convey calmness by being loyal, stable, service-oriented, having good judgment, and possessing empathy. We are looking for you who are passionate about working with individuals with dementia and who are open to new ways of working with care and support.

You work well with others, are sensitive, and listen actively. Furthermore, you have good communication skills and resolve conflicts constructively. You take responsibility for the development of the work group and have the ability to adapt quickly to new conditions. You can independently prioritize tasks and maintain calm even in stressful situations.

In the role, you will need knowledge and understanding of dementia diseases. You will need to put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings. The ability to be calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interaction is an important characteristic in the work, as well as having an interest and willingness to help others and striving to deliver solutions.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working in the documentation system Treserva and the planning tool TES, or other systems assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Experience working with various assessment tools such as BPSD, Senior Alert, or equivalent.
• Experience with delegation of health and medical care tasks.
• Previous experience with proxy duties and/or areas of responsibility.

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment according to the full-time agreement, with the possibility of working part-time. We apply smoke-free working hours, and the working hours are scheduled with day, evening, and weekend shifts. There is also the possibility to work night shifts.
