The elderly care services in Umeå Municipality aim to be a resource that frees up and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

Väst-Teg Care and Support Housing is a newly built municipal residence located in Väst-Teg. The facility opened in the autumn of 2024. There are a total of 120 apartments distributed across 12 units, with each unit consisting of 10 apartments. Each unit has its own spacious balcony. On the ground floor, there is a café and a glazed outdoor area. The premises in Väst-Teg also include a production kitchen.

We are now looking for both assistant nurses and care staff to join our team!

Your Responsibilities

With a professional approach and good customer service, you assist our residents in their daily lives. The resident's right to influence is central, and you contribute to ensuring that interventions are carried out with high quality, in accordance with the decision of support and the implementation plan.

You will assist with personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, meals, and other services. Your duties also include documenting measures and health status, as well as medical tasks delegated by the responsible nurse.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.

About You

For the position of assistant nurse, we are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse with experience working in elderly care. We would appreciate it if you had previous experience in dementia care.

For the position of care staff, we are looking for you who have experience working in elderly care. Here, we consider it an advantage if you have healthcare education and experience in dementia care.

Your interaction with the residents requires good competence based on personal suitability, maturity, and empathy. You show great commitment to both users and the organization in all relationships and actions. You enjoy working independently, are patient, and proactive. You have good skills in collaborating with colleagues, relatives, and other professions. Personal suitability is highly valued.

To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, read and write care documentation, and receive medical delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Lifting heavy loads occurs, and transfer aids must be used.

Employment Information

• Assistant Nurse: Two permanent positions, full-time, starting August/September as agreed.
• Care Staff: One temporary position, full-time, from 2026-09-30 to 2027-01-31.
