Fortifications Authority is looking for a Maintenance Technician for Kvarn! Your daily life - contribute to Sweden's defense capability

The Fortifications Authority is divided into six regions, and for Region Central, we are now looking for a Maintenance Technician for the maintenance unit Kvarn, Borensberg! Kvarn is part of the Property Unit South, which includes three maintenance districts; Kvarn, Linköping, and Norrköping.

Here, five maintenance technicians, one maintenance manager, and four property technicians specializing in roads, land, and parks (VMP) work together. The maintenance technicians' task is the operation and upkeep of all buildings in Kvarn, while the property technicians handle the external maintenance of the entire inner area as well as roads/shooting ranges. The maintenance district is home to the Swedish Armed Forces' Land Warfare School, where urban warfare is practiced, and among other things, there is a large shooting range. The district also has its own high- and low-voltage network, its own heat production, and its own water and sewage plant. We focus on delivering functional premises that meet the Swedish Armed Forces' needs, as well as ensuring cost-, energy-, and environmentally efficient system usage.

You will work independently with the operation, systematic troubleshooting, and maintenance of our property portfolio. This involves performing inspections, upkeep, and maintenance measures on buildings, including installations and associated infrastructure. The role is very broad and includes work with heating, water/sewage, and air handling systems, ventilation, control, regulation, and monitoring systems, as well as protective components. It also includes customer and supplier contacts and occasionally participating in various maintenance projects. On-call duty is included in the employment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have maintenance and upkeep education or other education that we assess as equivalent. You have experience in maintenance and upkeep work within real estate. You also have good administrative skills and are computer literate as a user of support systems. A driver's license, class B, is a requirement, as well as very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing. Since on-call duty is included in the position, there will be requirements for response time in case of alarm.

It is an advantage to have vocational education with a focus on maintenance technician within HVAC or ventilation. Experience and knowledge in control systems are also advantageous. We see it as a strong advantage if you have competence within water/sewage or ventilation. Work experience from production and distribution facilities as well as work in a security-classified environment such as hospitals, power plants, or similar is also advantageous.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a person, you are a team player and have good cooperation skills. You create good relationships at work, are structured, responsible, and driven. Other qualities you need to have are being creative and finding solutions to various problems that easily arise in everyday life. You are attracted to working in a service profession and are used to having customer relations. You should be able to work both independently and in a group.
