We are now looking for a handy and technically curious machine operator to strengthen the mechanical workshop at Björneborg Steel. Have you worked with lathes, milling machines, or in a workshop? Do you enjoy tinkering and solving problems? Then this might be the job for you.

About the role

As a machine operator at Björneborg Steel, you will work with rough machining of large components in an industrial environment. You will prepare workpieces and machines, work from drawings and instructions, use measuring equipment, and ensure that the work maintains high quality.

Your responsibilities will also include:

• Operating and monitoring lathes and milling machines
• Measuring and documenting according to control instructions
• Performing operator maintenance
• Logging work in the production system

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience from industry, a workshop, or a related sector
• Can read drawings and work meticulously
• Has knowledge of measuring techniques, fits, and tolerances
• Experience with CNC control is an advantage
• Holds a forklift and overhead crane license, or is willing to obtain one

You are practical, solution-oriented, and take responsibility for your work. You enjoy a dynamic environment, thrive in a workshop setting, and work well both independently and in a team.
