Individual Coordinator for School Attendance and Youth Development Project

Ängelholm Upper Secondary School is an inspiring meeting place for knowledge and development, and is part of Ängelholm Municipality where we work to ensure all young people are given good conditions for success. We are now looking for an Individual Coordinator for a 28-month development project co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF).

The project aims to strengthen support for students with problematic school absenteeism as well as young people under the municipality's activity responsibility (KAA), with the hope that more will return to studies, complete upper secondary school, or establish themselves in work or other meaningful activities. It focuses on developing individualized and flexible approaches for young people who struggle to establish or maintain school attendance.

Support and Interventions

Within the project, the following are offered among other things:

  • Alternative learning environments – adapted environments in the school's premises where students can receive support based on their needs
  • Motivating and interest-arousing activities – such as trial interventions, work with individual goals, and structured motivation enhancement
  • Individual support and coaching – mapping, planning, and continuous follow-up for each participant
  • Interventions to return to studies or find new contexts
  • Social and health-promoting activities – that strengthen well-being, participation, and gradually increase attendance
  • Competence-enhancing measures for staff

The goal is to strengthen motivation, increase attendance, and create sustainable paths forward for each individual.

Job Responsibilities

Do you want to contribute to more young people finding their way back to studies and their future? We offer meaningful work where you contribute daily to giving young people new opportunities while helping to develop future working methods within school attendance and youth support. You will work in a development-oriented environment where the focus is on testing, further developing, and establishing sustainable working methods.

As an Individual Coordinator, you work closely with the participants and are responsible for the operational support for young people in the project. You play a central role in creating structure, motivation, and progression for each individual. The work involves both outreach efforts, individual support, and coordination with various stakeholders regarding the participant.

Responsibilities include among other things:

  • Outreach work to reach students and young people with high absenteeism or outside of studies
  • Dialogue with teachers, principals, KAA coordinators, and other stakeholders regarding participants
  • Conduct individual conversations and mapping of participants' situations
  • Develop an individual plan with goals, activities, and studies together with the participant
  • Plan and conduct motivation-enhancing and interest-arousing activities
  • Work with continuous follow-up and adjustment of interventions
  • Support participants in transitions back to school or onward to other contexts
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding the individual's plan
  • Document and report participants' progression to the project manager
  • Contribute to the project's development through experiences and feedback
  • Participate in information dissemination and marketing of the project

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have:

  • Post-secondary education in behavioral science or social work
  • Knowledge of the upper secondary education system
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in school or related operations
  • Knowledge of counseling methods and a solution-focused working approach
  • Good ability to build trusting relationships
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
  • Basic IT and documentation skills

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge of problematic school absenteeism
  • Experience with project work, preferably ESF
  • Experience with motivation and coaching work
  • Interest in entrepreneurship and youth establishment

Personal Qualities

We are looking for you who are secure, sensitive, and relationship-building. You have the ability to meet people in different situations and with different backgrounds, are structured yet flexible. You can work independently, take responsibility, and are solution-focused and resilient. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

Type of Employment: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Start Date: 2026-08-26 (or as soon as possible during autumn term 2026).
End Date: 2028-12-29.

A selection will be made, followed by digital interviews of 30 minutes on Tuesday 4/8. Physical interviews will be held on Friday 7/8.

To ensure quality in the recruitment process at Ängelholm Municipality and enable good communication with our applicants, we ask you to apply online via the link in the advertisement. If you have priority rights in Ängelholm Municipality, you must state this in your application.
