The Swedish Transport Administration (Sjöfartsverket) offers safe and modern sea routes with 24/7 service. We have an exciting operation with many interesting and developing roles. If you are interested in making a difference and creating value, both regarding the environment and safety, then the combined role of VTS and Pilotage Operator is for you. This combined role is unique as you will work with pilotage planning for Gothenburg as well as pilotage planning and VTS for the Marstrand and Lysekil VTS areas.
Responsibilities
As a Pilotage Operator, you work as a logistics coordinator with tasks including receiving pilotage orders, distributing and planning pilotage assignments, recording duty times, ship arrivals and departures, and handling ongoing administrative tasks related to the pilotage process. Circumstances may change with short notice, requiring you to quickly adjust your planning.
As a VTS Operator, you use modern technology to monitor and provide information to ships regarding traffic conditions, potential errors in channel markings, and other obstacles in the fairway. You are thus a key cog in the work to minimize the risk of maritime and environmental accidents and incidents in the area.
The work is performed on irregular hours, both day and night.

To be considered for the combined role of VTS and Pilotage Operator, you must have:
- A Master Mariner's certificate
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working as a VTS Operator and/or Pilotage Operator
- Experience working irregular hours, both day and night
We place great importance on your personal qualities. The role involves many external and internal contacts, making openness, service orientation, communication, and teamwork skills very important. You must also have good planning and multitasking abilities and be meticulous.
