Surgical Department – Region Gävleborg

The surgical department covers the entire county with clinics and wards in Hudiksvall and Gävle. We provide both emergency and planned care within our specialties: urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, and endocrine surgery. Working with us gives you broad experience in the nursing profession with opportunities to develop within surgical fields. We are now looking for a nurse for a rotational position between the surgical clinic and one of our three surgical wards. The position involves working 80 percent at the clinic and 20 percent at the ward.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you are offered a varied and developmental job within one of healthcare's most exciting fields, where you meet both emergency and planned patients. The role involves rotation between the clinic and the ward. At the clinic, you work daytime hours, Monday to Friday, while work at the ward includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.

As a nurse at the surgical clinic, you will mainly work with:

• Clinic work together with physicians
• Telephone advice
• Handling referrals and booking patients
• Independent clinic consultations

As a nurse at the surgical ward, you will mainly work with:

• Nursing care in paired care units
• Medication management
• Rounds with physicians

Qualifications

To fit the position, we are looking for you who have good cooperation skills, are flexible, and can plan and structure your work well. We appreciate that you are driven and ambitious.

In the role of nurse, you must:

• Be a licensed nurse
• Have worked as a nurse for at least one year

For this position, experience in surgical care is meritorious.
