Welcome to us

Mälarbacken is a care and nursing home for elderly people over 65 years old. At Mälarbacken, 282 people live with various specializations including dementia, somatic care, psychiatric profile housing, as well as short-term and respite care. Mälarbacken is located in a beautiful natural area, easily accessible by car, bus, or subway. Mälarbacken is an academic hub, and we welcome nursing assistant students. We are currently looking for hourly-paid nursing assistants. We need staff for day/evening shifts as well as night shifts.

Your role

As a nursing assistant, you will provide good care, social support, and service efforts to the elderly according to decisions made by assistance coordinators. You will help and support care recipients in their daily lives to promote their functional abilities and assist with their social contacts. You will be responsible for ensuring that the elderly participate in various activities and receive stimulation for their well-being, as well as offering opportunities for outdoor activities. You will also maintain contact with relatives, participate in care planning, and handle social documentation. Additionally, you must follow the routines and regulations in place at the workplace.

Your qualifications and experience

You must hold the protected professional title of nursing assistant. You should have worked in care and nursing for at least 1 year. You should be accustomed to documentation.

You should also be service-oriented and sensitive to the needs of care recipients. You value differences and understand that different backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations can affect oneself and others in different ways. You have good collaboration skills and are willing to share your own knowledge and experiences, as well as being open to learning from others. You have empathy in your interactions with other people and have a genuine interest in working in this profession. Flexibility is expected, as the work requires it.
