TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN - RADIO
The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) Implementation Unit Central has personnel in Enköping, Falun, Arboga, Kungsängen, Berga, and Visby.
We are now looking for telecommunications technicians with a focus on marine radio and aviation radio for our department in Berga. As a telecommunications technician with us, you will be an important part of our execution organization and contribute to delivering results that have significance in a broader perspective and are of great importance to the Swedish Armed Forces' command capability.
About the Operations
FMTIS has five units that perform maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' command systems within the IT and Telecommunications area. Implementation Unit Central is one of these units.
The units work with maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' telecommunications network, radio, sensor, surveillance systems, as well as maintenance of a variety of different IT systems.
Main Responsibilities
The tasks consist mainly of performing corrective and preventive maintenance on radio systems and command systems within Military Region Central. The work also includes commissioning, updates, supervision checks, documentation, and acting as technical support within your own technical area. Collaboration with other units and functions within the Swedish Armed Forces, as well as supporting colleagues in other technical areas, is a natural part of the position.
The work involves business travel both on land and at sea in archipelago environments. Some tasks are performed in masts and towers, which requires a passed medical examination and subsequent internal training within the Swedish Armed Forces for working at heights (climbing in masts and towers).
You will primarily work together with the nearest technical team, and the position offers great variety in an stimulating and meaningful area of operation.
The position includes regular training at the Swedish Armed Forces Technical School in Halmstad, alternating with practical work on facilities with the various systems.

Start Date

The position is titled Telecommunications Engineer and the location is Berga.
Business travel and overnight stays in other locations occur.
Mast and tower training is conducted during the probation period, which requires a passed medical examination.
