Do you want to lead the National Board of Health and Welfare's work in developing guidelines and recommendations for the development of healthcare and social services? Do you have management experience and knowledge of the healthcare system and its organization? Then you might be the person we are looking for.
About the position
The National Board of Health and Welfare is tasked with steering, supporting, and developing healthcare, dental care, and social services through collaboration, independent experts, and reliable knowledge. We are currently in an intensive development phase, and the entire agency is developing new ways of working to move forward together, streamline our operations, strengthen quality, and make our knowledge more accessible, useful, and tailored to target groups.
This position is located within the Division for Knowledge Steering in Healthcare, which consists of seven units. The National Guidelines 2 unit is one of five units that develop recommendations for healthcare, dental care, social services, and screening. These recommendations support decision-makers in healthcare and social services in prioritization and resource allocation. National screening programs help detect and prevent serious conditions.
The unit currently consists of approximately 20 employees. You will lead the unit's staff toward good results through your engagement and ability to bring out everyone's potential. Through strong pedagogical skills, you create productive dialogues and collaboration, both internally within the agency and externally with other authorities and organizations. You provide the right conditions for the unit's employees and are responsible for the unit's continuous development and improvement work. You contribute to the division's overall results by actively participating in its management group, thereby also contributing to the agency's operational development. Together with your fellow managers, you also support the division director in decision-making.
A key part of your assignment is to collaborate with other actors and represent the National Board of Health and Welfare in various contexts. In your role as Unit Manager, you will be the spokesperson for the agency, primarily regarding the unit's issues but also others' questions within healthcare.
About you
We are looking for someone who is confident in their leadership and clear in their priorities. You plan and structure work in a long-term and sustainable way. To thrive with us, you are good at collaborating and building good relationships, both internally and externally. Through your communication skills, you inspire others to dialogue and participation. To succeed in the role, you are also driven, have a holistic perspective, and possess strong strategic skills. During the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
We are looking for someone who has
- A relevant academic degree, preferably in healthcare
- Good knowledge of the healthcare system and its organization
- Current management experience with both budget and personnel responsibility
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you have
- A PhD in a subject area we consider relevant for the position
- Experience working for a government agency
- Experience in knowledge steering
- Experience in evidence synthesis or screening
- Experience leading change and development in a knowledge-based organization
- Experience handling media
