Are you ready to take on a crucial role within the Swedish Armed Forces' intelligence and security service? The Southern Military District (MR S) is on a significant growth journey, expanding our team with competent and dedicated employees. We are looking for an Operations Manager for the 4th Regional Security Squadron (4. RSS) based in Revingehed.

About the Southern Military District

The Southern Military District (MR S) is one of four military districts, representing a permanent military-geographical division of Sweden's territory. The Military District is responsible for territorial command and coordination of missions and operations, total defense planning, defense planning, intelligence and security services, as well as support to society. The responsibility also includes production and mission management of MR S's five Military District Groups, along with their eleven home guard battalions.

In a military district, the Swedish Armed Forces meet civil society. Therefore, we need to understand the role of the Armed Forces, maintain good situational awareness, and have a holistic understanding of how society is organized and functions.

4th Regional Security Squadron (4. RSS)

The 4th Regional Security Squadron is a wartime unit undergoing growth, designed to operate here and now and in all subsequent typical situations. The unit is one of the Chief of MR S's most important tools for creating a regional situational picture regarding protected assets and threats to these assets. The 4. RSS task is to counter security-threatening activities against the Swedish Armed Forces' or allies' protected assets as well as our critical dependencies. This is done, for example, by the squadron:

  • Cooperating with actors within the region that can contribute to a consolidated situational picture
  • Gathering information using all the squadron's capabilities, primarily through questioning, investigation, surveillance, and technical collection
  • Producing materials to support planning as well as decision-making support for the C MR, MR staff, or supported commander
  • Supporting units and military bases with activities that raise the security protection level through various types of security protection measures.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of Operations Manager, you are responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with the squadron's command and sensor systems to ensure operations. You also participate in mission planning and are responsible for leading the function within the squadron. As the unit is under development, you are also responsible for contributing to the procurement of systems, which may involve contact with suppliers, FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration), and other actors. A natural part of your work is collaboration with other units and organizations within MR S aimed at developing our own command and sensor systems. In your daily work, you work closely with the unit's quartermaster and the respective person responsible for different systems.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Specialist Officer
  • Education relevant to the position (for example, within signal security and communications)
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
  • Good administrative skills
  • Driver's license, class B or higher

Personal Attributes

You are a person with good judgment, high integrity, and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality. You have high social skills and find it natural to work outwardly together with others. You are a curious and analytical person who can identify faults, deficiencies, and problems in their various components and have a passion for technology. You can propose unconventional solutions that contribute to increasing the unit's operational effectiveness, especially within your own area of responsibility. You have high work capacity and work in a structured manner. We believe you thrive in an environment that is constantly developing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal attributes and suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Documented work experience with military command and/or sensor systems, for example (but not limited to): LSS MR, LNP, UAS, TMM, GK signal security, Sitaware HQ/FL
  • Documented experience in the development of command and/or sensor systems
  • Knowledge of programming and/or construction, repair, soldering, etc., of fine electronics as well as 3D printing
