About 4. Regional Security Squadron

The 4th Regional Security Squadron (4.RSS) is a wartime unit currently in growth, designed to operate here and now as well as in all subsequent typical situations. The unit is one of the Military Region Commander's most important tools for creating a regional situational picture regarding protected assets and threats to them. The 4.RSS mission is to counter security-threatening activities against the Swedish Armed Forces' or allies' protected assets as well as our critical dependencies. This is done, for example, by the squadron;

• Cooperating with actors within the region who can contribute to a consolidated situational picture
• Gathering information using all the squadron's capabilities, from questioning, investigation, and surveillance to technical collection
• Producing material to support planning as well as decision-making material for the C MR, MR staff, or supported commander
• Supporting units and military bases with activities that raise the security protection level through various types of security protection measures

Main Responsibilities

In the role of a soldier at 4.RSS, you will primarily carry out various types of information gathering in different environments and conflict levels. This means you must be flexible and adapt your approach as the situation and threat landscape can change rapidly.

The information gathering tasks are carried out in varying terrain with several different types of sensors. The tasks are often complex, leading to dynamic operations.

The tasks are solved in small composite units that operate autonomously and are designed according to the nature of the task, which places high demands on competence and independence in the individual. The job can occasionally be physically and mentally demanding.

You should also be prepared to train within the security service with the aim of increasing capabilities at other units to be able to direct the security service within the region.

As a soldier at 4.RSS, you have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge within the assigned position within security and intelligence services. The three main directions for a soldier at 4.RSS are sensor, field security, and security market.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Military basic training/conscription with a passing grade
• Passed physical tests conducted during selection tests
• Category B driver's license
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English (spoken and written)
• Basic university entrance requirements

The Southern Military Region (MR S) is a wartime unit and an organizational unit where the Commander and Staff are located in Revingehed. The organization consists of the Commander with staff, five military region groups for education and support of the Home Guard, as well as approx. 7,000 Home Guard soldiers organized in eleven battalions and a number of independent units. C MR S with regional staff leads subordinate units, cooperates with regional and local actors, leads the security and intelligence service, and supports operational and tactical commanders who solve tasks within the region.
