About the role and your responsibilities

The school nurse's role includes monitoring students' progress towards knowledge goals, working health-promoting and preventive, following the base program, and implementing vaccination programs. You organize the school doctor's clinic and, in some cases, perform simple healthcare interventions. You are interested in working with preventive health work as well as managing the other routine tasks for a well-functioning medical student health service.

As a school nurse, you work towards a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. You are part of the school's student health team together with the school counselor, school psychologist, social pedagogue, special educators, and school leadership. The joint mission of the student health team, together with other staff, is to promote a safe environment and create good conditions for health, development, and learning. As a school nurse, you will also collaborate with guardians as well as other operations and authorities outside the school.

You are also part of a professional network with other school nurses in the municipality, with regular meetings for quality development and support in work, led by the medically responsible person.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with specialist education as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You need to have at least two years of experience as a nurse, and it is meritorious if you already have experience working in grades F-3 (preschool class to grade 3). It is also meritorious if you have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people.

To succeed in the role, you need to have a genuine interest in the school's students and a willingness to support students in reaching their goals in collaboration with teaching teachers.

We believe that you are a positive force who wants to and has the ability to create good relationships with students, staff, and guardians. Furthermore, you take initiative and have the ability to work independently. You collaborate with the school's student health service through preventive work. You also have good communication skills and collaborate with everyone at the school for the benefit of the students.

We would like you to have a desire to further develop the school nurse role together with the student health team, educators, and other colleagues in Lund Municipality's medical student health service. The role also involves documentation in digital tools, so good knowledge of digital documentation is therefore a requirement. It is meritorious if you have experience working in the Prorenata system.

About the workplace

Flygelskolan and Munspelets skola are located at Östra Torn in Lund, a short walking distance from each other. Both schools are F-3 schools and are part of the school track with Östratornskolan, which is a 4-9 school. Flygelskolan and Munspelet have two parallel classes each and approximately 200 students per school. Currently, there is one special educator and one special teacher at each school.

We work actively to ensure that all children feel safe and reach their goals through our red thread from preschool class to grade 3, where the structures are the same so that students recognize themselves. As a school nurse, you are part of this work.
