Workplace Description
The work group consists of autopsy technicians, physicians, and other teaching assistants.
Clinical autopsy services are performed at the workplace; specifically, the determination of cause of death.

Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you work with determining the cause of death and investigating diseases and other changes. Your tasks within the role may vary, but you must be enrolled as a student at the faculty where the work is conducted, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world.
The senior teaching assistant is tasked with leading the teaching assistant group, organizing teaching autopsies, and planning the training of new teaching assistants.
This role involves practically demonstrating how an autopsy is performed for fourth-term medical students, ranging from organ extraction to detailed dissection. Furthermore, an assessment of the findings and a synthesis are required to draw adequate conclusions regarding disease progression and causes of death.
After the teaching session, the teaching assistant, in consultation with the responsible physician, must formulate a report that clearly and adequately describes the findings.
Material must also be collected for microscopic analysis - this is also done in agreement with the responsible physician.
Working hours will be during daytime.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:
- You are actively studying on the medical program at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund
- You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- You have passed the course in pathology
- Good teamwork skills
- Good communication skills
Qualifications that are meritorious for the position include:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant
Other Information
The employment is fixed-term at 25% for six months, with a desired start date of July 1st, or as agreed.
The employment must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employments. Regulations concerning educational employment as a teaching assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
The employment is covered by the working time agreement for teachers.
