Do you want to help develop the future of geriatric care? We are now looking for a specialist physician in geriatrics who wants to become part of our growing and dedicated team at the Geriatric Clinic at Vrinnes Hospital in Norrköping.

What we offer

The Geriatric Clinic is a well-established department with approximately 120 employees working together to provide older patients with person-centered, secure, and high-quality care.

The clinic includes a Geriatric Acute Care Ward (GAVA) with 20 beds, a Cognitive Specialist Clinic, a Parkinson's Clinic, and medical responsibility for ward rounds at the municipality's short-term housing facilities. The combination of inpatient care, specialist clinics, and close collaboration with municipal healthcare provides a unique breadth and variety in clinical work.

Here, you have the opportunity to combine clinical work with supervision, education, and development projects. We have an active specialist training (ST) program and view education as a natural part of our operations. For those interested, there are also good opportunities to engage in research and clinical development projects.

Job Description

As a specialist physician with us, you will work with the investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of older patients with complex medical conditions. The position involves working within the clinic's various areas of operation based on the department's needs and your competence profile.

You will work closely with other professions within the clinic as well as collaborate with primary care, municipal healthcare, and other specialist clinics. The role also includes supervising specialist trainees (ST doctors) and other colleagues, as well as participating in operational development and quality work.

On-call duties are included, with weekend shifts approximately every fifth or sixth weekend. Additionally, duty within the internal medicine on-call lines may occur a couple of times per semester.

Work Group

At the clinic, specialist physicians, ST doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, and healthcare administrators work in multidisciplinary teams.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in geriatrics.

You have a genuine interest in the older patient and appreciate the breadth within geriatric medicine. You thrive in team settings, have good collaboration skills, and contribute to a positive working climate.

As a person, you are responsible, flexible, and have the ability to see the whole picture regarding the patient's needs. You are also interested in contributing to the continued development of the department through quality work, supervision, and knowledge exchange. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
