Operations Manager for Nynäs Castle

The role requires leadership that can hold several perspectives together simultaneously. You need to be able to balance different goals and interests, make wise decisions in complex issues, and keep the development work alive even when conditions change.

This is a role for you who sees opportunities in complexity, who can bring different actors together around a common ambition, and who wants to lead a place with both strong identity and great development potential. You collaborate with many different actors – within Culture & Education and other parts of Region Södermanland, such as Sustainable Regional Development, Property Services, and Health Care, but also with municipalities, associations, and entrepreneurs within, among others, the tourism industry and local food production. Building relationships and creating progress together with others is a central part of the assignment.

As a manager at Nynäs, you lead a group with high competence and broad experience – from specialist functions to practical operations. Together, you carry a socially important mission: to preserve, develop, and make accessible a place that contains both history, biological diversity, and new opportunities for future visitors.

You are part of the management group for Culture & Education and report to the Area Manager.

About Us

Culture & Education is part of Region Södermanland and is responsible for regional assignments within culture, education, and outdoor activities. Nynäs Castle is an estate that includes one of Södermanland's largest nature reserves, managing cultural-historical buildings and operations within agriculture, cultural heritage, and tourism. The operations at Nynäs contribute to sustainable regional development, robust food supply, and the preservation of cultural heritage. Nynäs is accessible to all visitors with a special focus on children and young people.

Responsibilities

As Operations Manager for Nynäs, you are responsible for leading, developing, and following up on operations based on politically decided goals and assignments. The assignment involves leading an operation with breadth and complexity, where several different assignments, competencies, and interests collaborate.

The assignment includes:

• responsibility for the operation and development of activities, personnel, economy, and working environment
• ensuring the implementation of assignments within agriculture, cultural heritage, and visitor activities within the framework of the reserve management
• driving and implementing a long-term plan for Nynäs and contributing to the development of operations
• developing Nynäs as a visitor destination and strengthening the conditions for external funding
• initiating and developing collaboration with internal and external actors, such as Öknaskolan's agricultural high school, Södermanland Museum, National Museum, and other partners

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• relevant university education or other education combined with experience that the employer considers equivalent
• experience in managerial and leadership roles
• experience in leading change and development
• good understanding of work in a politically governed organization
• Driver's License B (manual transmission)

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience from operations within culture, agriculture, or visitor and experience activities
• experience of collaboration between public actors, business, and civil society
• experience of working with external funding

Employment Terms

Fixed-term, at least 6 months with high probability of a longer period, full-time.
Start date according to agreement.
Location: Nynäs Tystberga, Nyköping.
