RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work in one of society's most important operations? At Oskarshamn Libraries, we work every day for an open, inclusive, and knowledge-sharing society. The library is a democratic cornerstone institution and a central part of the work to make Oskarshamn an attractive and growing municipality. We are now looking for you who want to strengthen our team. Oskarshamn Libraries is a forward-looking operation, and we are seeking a librarian who wants to help develop the libraries of the future in Oskarshamn. This is a rare opportunity; we are not looking for a replacement but an addition to our team. We want more people engaged in program activities, accessibility, and work with children and young people.

The position involves working at:

• The City Library
• Branches
• The Book Bus

The work consists of, among other things:

• Staffing at information and lending desks
• Program and reading promotion work
• Media management
• Meetings with children, young people, and adults

The position includes evening and weekend shifts. The work requires good physical fitness, as heavy lifting and mobile work are involved.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a degree in Library and Information Science and a B-category driver's license. You are confident in your professional practice and take responsibility for driving your work forward with your own judgment and initiative, even when it requires courage. You can meet children and young people with both structure and playfulness, and you thrive in a role where relationships are central. For you, the library is a place where knowledge, security, and curiosity are given room.

You work equally well independently as in close collaboration with colleagues and partners, and you actively contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive work climate. You are simply so secure in your professional role that you sometimes dare to be a bit playful when it helps the interaction and learning.
