The Brain Injury Center is a unit within Rehabilitation & Health, a operation within Region Stockholm with specialized competence regarding acquired brain injury. The Brain Injury Center consists of an adult team and a child team, the Child Brain Team. We are located at Sabbatsberg Hospital in central Stockholm, close to buses, the subway, and commuter trains. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, speech therapists, and special educators who collaborate to provide interventions for patients, primarily individually but also in groups. The Child Brain Team receives children and adolescents with acquired brain injury and permanent disabilities. We receive patients from across the county. Children with moderate to severe acquired brain injury are received at local Rehabilitation Centers for Children.
The adult team at the Brain Injury Center provides support and interventions to adults with moderate to severe acquired brain injury who are covered by the Support and Service Act for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) person groups 2 or 3.
About the Position
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and wish to work full-time, starting September 7th or as agreed.
As a psychologist in the Child Brain Team, you will work with children with acquired brain injury aged 2–17 years. The work includes, among other things, psychoeducation about acquired brain injury for relatives, schools, as well as children and adolescents, supportive conversations with patients and relatives (guardians and siblings), and collaboration with other networks, other healthcare providers, schools, and social services. Interventions can be given both individually and in groups, and can take place both within and outside the unit, e.g., school visits. Outward-facing educational and information initiatives are part of the work.
As a psychologist at the unit, you will also be part of the adult team at the Brain Injury Center and conduct neuropsychological assessments. The number of assessments varies; in some periods, it accounts for approximately 10–15% of working hours.
About You
You are a licensed psychologist, preferably with clinical experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury. Good experience with neuropsychological assessments is meritorious. A strong interest in teamwork and neuropsychology. Specialist education in neuropsychology or clinical psychology, and further education in the field of acquired brain injury, is meritorious.

Employment Terms
Permanent employment, full-time from 2026-09-07 or as agreed.
The position is filled subject to the condition that it does not need to be filled by internal relocation, according to current regulations.
In patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):
- A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO’s overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, in addition to Swedish professional licensure. The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
