What are my responsibilities?

As a fiber technician with us, you work with building and maintaining the communication networks of the future. Your job is to ensure that fiber connections work as they should, both during new installations and when something needs to be troubleshooted or repaired. You work with both businesses and private individuals, and you are involved from the cable cabinet to the end user.

Your tasks may include, among other things:

• Installation of fiber connections (e.g., FTTH – Fiber To The Home)
• Troubleshooting and service of existing networks
• Blowing and splicing of fiber cables
• Measurement with OTDR to find and analyze faults
• Cable pulling and termination, for example Cat-6
• Fiber splicing

You work both in a team with a colleague and on your own assignments. You receive your assignments from a production planner who is also available for support when needed. The work can vary throughout the day depending on customer needs, so it is important that you are flexible and can adapt quickly to changes.

The position may involve on-call duties outside regular working hours, but this is always done in consultation with our central function at SPOC. We have an obligation to offer our customers 24/7 service, while also ensuring that your work situation fits your conditions and that your life otherwise works out.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

• A completed upper secondary education
• Previous experience with fiber work and comfort in handling various tools & measuring instruments
• Good Swedish in speech and writing, as well as a good understanding of English
• B-driver's license for manual transmission

It is meritorious if you are a certified fiber technician. Furthermore, experience and knowledge in transmission and installation are also meritorious.

You are independent and have an easy time communicating with both colleagues and customers. Additional information
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a 6-month probation period.

The basis for employment is a approved background check (including among other things control of legal disputes and economic status) and approved security clearance.
