Your Role

We are looking for a Hardware Tester who can take overall responsibility for the planning and execution of tests.

In this role, you ensure that the hardware—including servers, switches, and add-in cards—meets all requirements for compatibility and performance, including real-time performance. Your mission is to demonstrate stability in our current computer platform and be a key person in the evaluation of future hardware.

Examples of tasks:

• Participate in the team working on requirements and hardware procurement to define and understand testing needs early on.
• Responsible for test planning, such as which hardware and lab to use, and estimating time consumption.
• Communicate resource needs to team leaders.
• Develop test plans and scripts, and conduct tests, either independently or in collaboration with others.
• Ensure that test results are documented carefully and communicated to stakeholders.
• Develop and drive the long-term strategy for hardware testing.

You will become part of Computer Platforms for Simulators, responsible for the development, operation, and management of the computer platforms for Gripen development simulators at Saab Aeronautics in Linköping.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is methodical, analytical, and meticulous. You enjoy communicating with others and working in teams to find solutions, but also have the ability to work independently and deliver on time. You have insight into your own strengths and areas for improvement, are humble, and have a great desire to learn new things.

Competencies:

• You have a genuine interest in testing and good troubleshooting skills in complex systems. You have experience with, for example, component testing, integration testing, or system testing, and have worked with various test tools. Experience with test automation as well as performance testing and optimization is an advantage.
• You have knowledge of server hardware, network equipment, and PCIe-based cards.
• You have good experience with Linux (administration and troubleshooting).
• You have experience with scripting, for example, Python or Bash.
• You understand how drivers and the Linux kernel work.
• Knowledge of networking and storage technologies is an advantage.
• You handle technical and formal language in both Swedish and English and are comfortable with technical documentation.
• You have a university degree in a relevant technical field.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
