We are looking for an experienced BAS-U (Construction Phase Coordinator) for a long-term assignment within a larger construction and civil engineering program in the Stockholm area. This role is suitable for you who have solid experience in construction phase coordination and want to contribute to safe, structured, and well-coordinated production environments in complex infrastructure projects.
Duration: July 1, 2026 – July 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension for up to three additional years. Scope: initially approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility to increase to 100% during the assignment.
About the assignment
As a BAS-U, you will be part of the safety function and work closely with project management, contractors, and other support functions. The assignment involves safety coordination during the execution phase for several sub-projects within a larger infrastructure context.
You will be responsible, among other things, for ensuring that safety work is planned, communicated, followed up, and documented in a professional manner. The role involves both strategic and operational work, with presence at project offices and on construction and establishment sites.
Responsibilities
The role includes, among other things:
- Organizing and following up on safety and security activities at construction sites.
- Ensuring that safety plans are developed before establishment and communicated to relevant parties.
- Reviewing contractors' work preparation, risk assessments, and proposed measures.
- Following up that decided protective and safety measures are implemented in production.
- Leading or participating in safety meetings with contractors.
- Participating in and following up safety rounds, and documenting results.
- Planning and conducting safety audits together with other support functions.
- Ensuring that near-misses and accidents are reported and that corrective and preventive measures are implemented.
- Ensuring coordination between contractors working simultaneously or in close proximity.
- Giving clearance before contractors begin work.
- Ensuring that only authorized personnel are present at the workplace.
- Following up that technical devices, protective equipment, and special safety solutions are checked, functioning, and correctly assigned.
Workplace and scope
The assignment is based at project offices in Sundbyberg/Stockholm area as well as construction and project sites in the region. The work is primarily on-site and is not a remote assignment.
The scope is initially approximately 20 hours per week, distributed over several days as agreed. There is an opportunity for the scope to increase to full-time, however, maximum 40 hours per week. Work outside regular office hours may occur if necessary and with approval.
The consultant must provide their own mobile phone. Computer and workplace are provided.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must meet the following requirements:
- At least 4 years of work experience as a BAS-U in construction and civil engineering projects.
- Experience from at least one construction or civil engineering project with a project budget of at least 100 million SEK. The budget must be clearly stated in your CV.
- Documented BAS-U education, verified with a certificate.
- Experience in safety planning and safety coordination during the execution phase.
- Experience in reviewing work preparations, risk assessments, and safety measures.
- Experience in safety rounds, safety meetings, follow-up, and documentation.
- Good understanding of Swedish safety regulations and working methods within construction and civil engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in the Stockholm area and travel to project establishments and work areas as needed.
Preferred qualifications
It is meritorious if you also have:
- At least 2 years of experience as SOA (Railway Area Coordinator).
- Education in contracting law with a focus on AB04 and/or ABT09, verified with a certificate.
- Experience from track, railway, tram, or public transport-related infrastructure projects.
- Experience from large and complex infrastructure projects with several parallel contractors.
- TRI category 19 or equivalent railway/track safety competence.
- Experience in safety audits and systematic follow-up in larger project organizations.
Other information
During the assignment, there may be a need for specific track safety training. If such training is required, the consultant must be able to complete it within a specified timeframe.

You have good collaboration skills, can drive safety issues forward, and are accustomed to communicating with both project management, contractors, and specialists.
