Our Operations

The Security Unit consists of five employees and belongs to the Municipal Executive Office. The unit's mandate is to work strategically, governingly, and guidance-oriented so that operations get the best possible opportunities to meet the extensive and broad requirements within crime prevention, crisis preparedness, civil defense, and security protection.

Your Role

This is a role for you who want to drive development issues. You will have great opportunities to influence and contribute your expertise in a central role. Together with a colleague, you are responsible for leading the cross-administrative safety and crime prevention work. You initiate, plan, train, organize, and drive processes both independently and together with others. An important part of the role is to actively work to create good collaboration internally within the framework of our safety council.

The unit is responsible for creating situation assessments, mapping, cause analysis, action plans, and follow-up. You will be the contact person towards the police, businesses, associations, property owners, and others, with the aim of gathering and sharing knowledge and analyses to translate information into long-term planning. The work also includes handling operational work within the safety council and supporting concrete collaboration.

It is important that you can independently plan and drive processes long-term while quickly adapting to changed conditions. You are responsible for strategic development and by coordinating and developing common areas of work, you facilitate operations to succeed in their line work. We work closely with the operations, and as experts in the field, some tasks will also be operational to support operations during acute events.

You will also train and drive knowledge-based working methods and carry out various activities such as safety walks and lectures. You will work closely with other strategists and investigators and work with adjacent areas such as drug and alcohol issues (ANDT), social sustainability, and violent extremism.

The Security Unit is a small unit that works closely together, which is why it is important that you have an interest in civil preparedness so that you can occasionally be engaged in crisis preparedness and other current tasks at the unit.

Your Experience

We are looking for you who have good knowledge of social and situational crime prevention work and good analytical ability regarding the relationship between actual security and perceived safety.

You should have:

• Relevant social science degree from university or college with a focus on, for example, political science, sociology, criminology, police degree, or other education considered equivalent by the employer
• Several years of current experience in coordinating crime prevention work in a municipal central function
• Good knowledge of laws and national governance in the area
• Experience in investigation and analysis work, as well as compiling results
• Good knowledge of how a municipality is structured and especially how schools and social services are organized
• Documented experience in reporting and coordination within the area.
