Description

Visby Cathedral Parish wants to be a natural and relevant place for young people, where teaching, relationships, and deepening faith create a sense of belonging, growth, and anchoring in Christian belief and parish life. We are now looking for you who want to help lead this work forward.

Together with educators, you will be part of the parish's children and youth team and collaborate with other priests, deacons, and musicians. You will help establish a cathedral pedagogical team.

Responsibilities

Confirmation and Youth

Lead and develop the confirmation work together with our dedicated confirmation team. Build on relationships after the confirmation period through leadership training, youth evenings, and activities within the Church of Sweden's Young People's Ministry. Collaborate with the counseling center TvåRum.

Church & School

Participate in school work together with our educators. Work to make the cathedral an inspiring learning environment where history, faith, and contemporary life meet. Offer thematic assemblies and activities in collaboration with schools.

Deepening in the Parish

Facilitate discussion groups, Bible studies, and provide theological guidance for young people and young adults. Deepen and develop the parish's baptismal work. Work closely with music, worship, and diaconal services to create a holistic environment where teaching and deepening naturally weave into parish life.

Worship and Church Services

Conduct worship services and church ceremonies according to schedule.

Qualifications

You are a priest in the Church of Sweden and secure in your theological grounding. We are looking for someone who:

• Has an easy time building trusting relationships, enjoys collaborating, and contributes to a good work climate.
• Has an open, inclusive, and respectful approach, is self-assured, unpretentious, and solution-oriented.

Your Application

Your application should include a cover letter, CV, priest's letter, and a certificate according to Chapter 34, Section 10, Paragraph 2 of the Church Ordinance (willingness to serve in all duties together with others ordained for a mission within the church's ordained ministry regardless of their gender).

You must also be able to present an extract from the criminal record register.
