About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for both society and the energy transition? Here, you are part of a socially vital operation with exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value each other.
We are currently looking for several experienced Control System Engineers who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future!
We are facing one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's largest investments ever – a historic mobilization to build a stronger, more resilient, and entirely independent capability in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. In a time when the external environment places increasingly high demands on robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to secure a power grid that can withstand difficult conditions and deliver when needed most.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As a Control System Engineer, you will become part of our technical department, a competence-driven part of Vattenfall Eldistribution with approximately 50 engineers across the country. The role involves a strong focus on safety, quality, progress, and engagement. Safety is the guiding star in everything we do; in a hazardous environment, we look out for each other and create security together.
Your main tasks:
- Maintenance testing
- Commissioning, configuration, and testing of control systems
- Troubleshooting and relay adjustments
- Work with remote controls and other station equipment
- Minor design adaptations in connection with commissioning
Day trips are a natural part of the position, but overnight travel may also occur. On-call duty may be included as a natural part of the assignment.
Requirements
Our way of working is characterized by freedom under responsibility, and as a person, you are therefore driven by taking on challenges, solving problems, and achieving set goals. Since you will have contact with both internal and external stakeholders, we are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys working both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You are structured, meticulous, and take responsibility for both quality and safety in your work.
In addition to your personal qualities, we would like you to have:
- A post-secondary education in electrical power or equivalent work experience in the electrical power sector
- Several years of experience working with control systems/testing within the voltage range of 0.4-400kV
- Good knowledge of electrical power installations
- Good computer skills
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
- Fluency in Swedish (written and spoken) and good knowledge of English
We consider the following to be meritorious:
- Worked at voltage levels above 130 kV
- Experience with IEC 61850
- Experience performing design adaptations independently
- Design of minor projects, individual equipment replacements, control equipment, relay protection, or similar
- Experience with AutoCad Elmaster
