At Kastanjen Short-term Care, we work with person-centered care where every individual is in focus. At Kastanjen, there is a dementia department for permanent residence as well as a respite care department and two short-term care departments. There are ten residents on each department. You will become part of an engaged team where collaboration and a good work environment are central. We strive to create a safe, meaningful, and dignified everyday life for our residents.
Temporary position as a Nursing Assistant
We are looking for a Nursing Assistant (Undersköterska) for a temporary position at 80% for six months, starting August 31st.

Job Responsibilities
Working at a short-term care facility involves a varied and changing job where you have a central role in daily care. Unlike a traditional care home, residents stay for a limited time, which means needs can change quickly and the work involves both planned and acute interventions.
You work closely with the residents and provide support based on their individual needs and implementation plans. The tasks include among other things:
- Personal care and hygiene
- Support during meals
- Mobility and transfers
- Social documentation
- Support in daily living
The workplace is characterized by collaboration, engagement, and development, where activities and a health-promoting approach are a natural part of everyday life. With a focus on self-determination, you support and motivate the residents to a meaningful life. A good attitude towards residents, relatives, and colleagues is therefore an important part of the work.
The role requires you to be independent and take personal responsibility. The work is eventful and fast-paced, requiring good prioritization skills, collaboration skills, and flexibility. You become part of a team that gladly shares ideas and experiences to develop the operations and provide the best care for the residents. As a nursing assistant here, you work closely with nurses, coordinators, activity coordinators, administrators, and the rehab team.
You work according to a schedule for days, evenings, and every other weekend, and working hours at the facility vary based on operational needs. If you work day shifts, your day can start at 06:55; if you work evening shifts, your day can end at 22:00.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are:
- Educated as a Nursing Assistant with a protected title from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
- Experienced in short-term care, hospitals, or care homes.
- Experienced in working with dementia and cognitive impairment.
- Have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills.
We believe you are secure in your professional role and thrive in a changing operation, with the ability to adapt quickly when needs arise. You work independently, take initiative, and see what needs to be done within the scope of your assignment, while collaborating well with others.
You have a professional attitude, are solution-oriented, and actively contribute to the work functioning even at a high pace. For us, personal suitability is crucial – you contribute to a good work climate and value good communication, responsiveness, and collaboration.
You are flexible, responsible, and service-oriented, with a positive attitude towards working in a team where the team comes before the individual. And last but not least – you think it is fun to work in elderly care, just like us!
About the position

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
