About the workplace
In the City of Helsingborg, the Social Services Administration is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society. We are undergoing an exciting transition towards the social services of the future. We have high ambitions, but to succeed, we need you.
The Social Services Administration has recently undergone an organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: Authority, Interventions and service, and Housing.
Social Psychiatry belongs to the Housing business area and serves adults with long-term psychosocial disabilities as well as substance abuse and/or psychosocial difficulties. The operation provides supported housing in accordance with the Social Services Act for individuals with long-term psychosocial disabilities.
We are now looking for dedicated colleagues for our housing facility at Plutogatan BSS.
Plutogatan BSS is a supported housing facility for individuals with psychosocial disabilities. The operation covers approximately 30 places and offers individually adapted support. The work group currently consists of 15 employees, five of whom work nights.
Job Description
The role of Support Assistant includes providing social, pedagogical, and practical support to our residents. The work aims to contribute to increased quality of life and security through individually adapted support and service. The Social Services Administration works based on the "Signs of Safety" approach, which permeates the entire administration's work and implies a respectful, solution-focused, and strength-based approach where the individual's participation is central.
The operation works based on the "Independent Life" (ESL) method, with the goal of giving our users good conditions to live as independently as possible and to be able to participate in society's welfare on equal terms.
The tasks include social support, activation, as well as motivational and change work. The role involves creating a calm and secure environment for our residents during the night. You will always work with an awake colleague, where your interaction and security are of utmost importance. You must therefore cherish your shared responsibility and be able to create a safe working environment. You and your colleague are available to the residents as needed and have a low-affective approach. This may, for example, involve needs for conversation or medication. Cleaning and laundry are also included in the job duties. You are also expected to document in our journal system, Lifecare.
Healthcare interventions occur in collaboration with a nurse and are performed according to delegation. Therefore, it is a requirement that you perform delegated healthcare tasks responsibly and with quality assurance.
In the role of Support Assistant, you are the case worker's extended arm in the implementation of decided interventions. This means that you document events in the daily operation and follow up and report back on the intervention in consultation with the responsible case worker.
The work is scheduled for nights and occasional meetings during the day.
What we offer
We offer you varied, responsible, and stimulating work. In a work climate where everyone gets to speak and where joy and professionalism are combined. As a full-time employee, you receive a wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK per year.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are positive, proactive, and can work both independently and in a team. You should have a rehabilitative mindset and must be able to create security, have a good approach, be creative and brave, and see the big picture.
To proceed in the recruitment process, you need:
- to be educated as a nurse assistant (undersköterska), preferably with a psychiatric focus or other education that the employer considers equivalent
- to have experience of psychiatric care and nursing and/or social psychiatry in some form through work
- to have a manual B-driver's license and a willingness to drive a car
- to be able to perform delegated tasks
- to have good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.
To succeed in your assignment, you are a person who:
- has high social competence with good self-awareness and sees approach, trust, and participation as important factors
- is enduring and patient and has the ability for a low-affective approach
- has good ability to collaborate
- enjoys being awake at night and has the ability to switch to a higher pace when needed.
Experience of work within substance abuse is meritorious, but it is not a requirement.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Experience is required.
