We are looking for a Water Meter Technician for the Water and Wastewater Unit!

Are you technically interested, enjoy working independently, and want to help develop the future water and wastewater operations? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

The Water and Wastewater Unit within Technical and Leisure Säffle-Åmål is now seeking a driven meter technician who wants to help develop the work with modern remote-read and leak-detecting water meters. With us, you will have an important role in streamlining operations and strengthening service to both residents and society.

Responsibilities

As a Water Meter Technician, you are responsible for the replacement, installation, and maintenance of water meters at our water and wastewater customers. The work is largely performed independently at property owners' premises and involves both technical work and customer contact.

In this role, you also work on developing and streamlining the work regarding our new smart water meters.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with both customer service and the operational staff of the Water and Wastewater Unit.

The responsibilities include among other things:

• Replacement, installation, maintenance, and inspection of water meters
• Planning and customer contact prior to meter replacements, as well as handling customer cases related to water meters
• Purchasing, inventory management, and administration of meter information
• Monitoring and analysis of meter data in operational systems to identify, for example, leaks, excessive consumption, and other disturbances.
• Support to other staff as needed, for example during field leak detection

Other tasks include assisting with service shutdowns in connection with work on property water and wastewater installations, handling and administering meter information, acting on meter-related customer cases, and assisting with meter audits.

Who are you?

The operations of the Water and Wastewater Unit are classified as vital to society and are subject to high legal requirements, which means the work requires a high sense of responsibility and precision. Since we work with drinking water, high demands are also placed on hygiene and order in daily work.

To thrive in the role, you have good social competence, are service-oriented, and professional in your approach, and enjoy having contact with people.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for you who have:

• Technical education at the upper secondary level or other education deemed equivalent
• Experience in plumbing or pipefitting is an advantage
• Good computer skills and experience with digital operational systems
• Category B driver's license
