Through conversation, activities, and your engagement, you can contribute to security, inclusion, and quality of life.

 

Your Role

Many people sometimes need extra support when their own network is not enough. As a contact person, you become an important fellow human being and a social support in daily life. You meet the person regularly, usually about once a week, and you spend time together through activities based on the individual's needs, interests, and wishes.

The assignment can involve everything from walks, coffee breaks, and conversations to shared leisure activities or support in simpler daily situations. The service is provided to individuals who have been granted a contact person through a social assistance decision.

As a contact person, you contribute to increased inclusion, community, and security. Through your engagement, you can make a big difference and contribute to a meaningful and content-rich daily life for the person you support.

 

What the Role Entails

As a contact person, you are primarily a fellow human being who offers social support, companionship, and meaningful contact in daily life. The role involves building a trusting and long-term relationship where you support the individual based on their needs and circumstances. You encourage an active leisure time, promote social contacts, and act as a support through conversation, advice, and guidance in situations that do not require specific professional competence.

As a contact person, you are bound by confidentiality, which means you cannot pass on information about the person you are or have been a contact person for. Creating a safe and trusting relationship can take different amounts of time. For some, the connection happens quickly, while for others, it requires more time and patience. The most important thing is to meet the person with respect, sensitivity, and genuine engagement.

For this role, you receive both an honorarium and an expense allowance. The expense allowance is intended to cover costs that may arise in connection with the assignment, such as travel, coffee, or shared activities. The honorarium is taxable and pensionable.

Your Qualifications

You do not need any special education or previous experience in social work to become a contact person. The most important thing is that you have a stable life situation, time, and the willingness to engage in another person's daily life. We are looking for people who enjoy meeting people, are respectful, and want to contribute to increased community and quality of life for others.

You must be at least 18 years old, but otherwise, we welcome applicants of all ages and backgrounds. We would like you to be a secure and stable person with good self-awareness and the ability to build trusting relationships. You are sensitive, empathetic, and have an easy time adapting to different situations and people's needs. We also value a friendly and respectful approach, as well as a willingness to support and encourage others on their own terms.
