About the workplace

The catering operations are part of the Service Administration in Ale Municipality. The Service Administration is tasked with providing quality service to Ale Municipality's core operations in a professional and resource-efficient manner.

The meals we serve are an important part of the day for schools, preschools, and elderly care. The goal of the catering operations is to provide well-composed, nutritious, sustainable, and safe meals that are prepared and served with pride, care, and passion. In Ale, we work with economic, ecological, and social sustainability. In total, our operations consist of approximately 90 employees and 32 kitchens.

We are now looking for an engaged and service-oriented meal assistant for the catering unit. The position is currently located in the kitchen at Da Vinci School, which is centrally located in Nödinge. The kitchen prepares meals for the school's 450 students as well as for two nursing homes in the municipality to which the food is delivered. You will work together with several colleagues and have a daily operations manager on site.

Responsibilities

The work involves contributing to and working towards achieving the goals of Ale Municipality, the administration, and the operations, adhering to applicable laws and guidelines, and participating in and contributing to a good work environment.

Good teamwork skills, flexibility, and a good sense of service are important qualities. The work involves participating in production and serving lunch with a pleasant attitude and high service standards.

As a meal assistant, your tasks include preparing and serving tasty and nutritious meals. You are responsible for food safety and must be able to label and inform about the contents of the food correctly. Washing dishes and cleaning serving surfaces, food trolleys, and the kitchen are daily routines.

Qualifications

You have a high school education within the restaurant and food program or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have previous experience working as a meal assistant and enjoy having students as diners.

You should have good theoretical and practical knowledge in the kitchen and in special diets, and be able to manage daily cleaning and self-control well.

Experience working in large-scale kitchens, such as in schools or elderly care, is advantageous.

It is important that you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of good service.

Basic computer skills are required.

You need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, as reading and following routines and instructions, as well as communicating with colleagues, clients, and diners, is part of the assignment.

Other

Since the work involves contact with children, you must be able to present an extract from the police's criminal record register upon a job offer.
