Our goal is to improve public health and care in Skaraborg by supporting projects closely linked to daily operations. We offer financial support, education, and supervision to researchers in both the public and private sectors, and we arrange seminars and courses in research methodology. The board now sees potential for renewal and development of the operations. Together with the board, you will have the opportunity to develop a vision for the operations and a clear strategy for the future and implementation.

As CEO, you have overall responsibility for strategic development, operations, economy, and personnel. The CEO reports to the board and leads the organization's employees and work towards set goals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure long-term financing and sustainable economy
• Contribute to in-depth and proactive research collaboration with universities, Skaraborg municipalities, the Skaraborg Municipal Association, and business life
• Be responsible for the distribution and management of project funds and manage financing for research
• Serve as a speaker in the Institute's Scientific Council

We are looking for you who

• Are a relationship-building and communicative leader with high integrity
• Work in a structured and results-oriented manner with the ability to create engagement and involvement
• Can focus on a combination of operational leadership and strategic work with a politically appointed board to ensure the organization's goals and vision
• Have a good understanding of the nature and needs of research and the ability to navigate the research world
• Have experience of good leadership built on development, trust, and psychological safety
• Have experience managing budgets, financing, and resource allocation
• Good communication skills in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
• Have an academic professional degree in a field relevant to the Skaraborg Institute (e.g., biomedicine, public health science, physiotherapy, medical science, nursing, or similar fields)
• Have a doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., biomedicine, public health science, physiotherapy, medical science, nursing, or similar fields)
• Have an academic level equivalent to at least the level of docent

Qualifications that would be meritorious for the position:

• If you have a higher academic level (associate professor/professor)
• Leadership training in a relevant field
• Experience of leadership within research institutes, universities/colleges

The operations are located in Regionens Hus in Skövde.
